George and Cyndy provide leadership to the Athletes in Action staff (11 couples) who are serving NFL teams and the organization as a whole. Their mission is to win athletes and coaches to Christ, build those who are Christians in the faith, and train those, who desire, in the fundamentals of winning and building others in the Christian faith. In leading this division, they counsel those who are team chaplains in the best practices and nuances of sports team chaplaincy. They teach chaplains how to lead effective group Bible studies, how to deliver chapel service messages that connect with the attendees, and how to train athletes and coaches in ministry skills. They also create opportunities for team chaplains to benefit from rubbing shoulders with each other at division meetings.
The NFL has granted them the opportunity to conduct chapel services at events such at the NFL Pro Bowl, the Senior Bowl, the NFL Combines, and the Owners Meetings. George and Cyndy help provide ministry opportunities and moments where the gospel is conveyed to the men and women associated with the NFL.
